Global Health Conference
The Australian Medical Students’ Association Global Health Conference (AMSA GHC) aims to educate and empower medical students with knowledge about global health.
Originally titled the Developing World Conference, the GHC was established in 2005 by members of AMSA, in order to fulfill the desire of medical students to meet and discuss the broader issues relevant to global health. The inaugural conference hosted 200 delegates in Sydney, and the 2006 conference in Perth hosted over 250. Each year the GHC has continued to grow. The GHC now plays host to over 400 delegates as well as speakers of both the highest international profiles, and effective grassroots action.
The GHC brings together Australia and New Zealand's most motivated medical students and junior doctors to collectively address the complex matrix of factors that contribute to issues of health in developing communities around the world. The academic programme is filled with speakers from many disciplines, including workers from Medecins Sans Frontieres, Health Advisors to Non-for-profit organisations, Politicians and many, many more; whilst the social programme allows students to meet like-minded individuals from around the country.

These three-day workshops are brought to you by AMSA and the IFMSA, and will run from September 13th - 15th, just prior to the 2012 AMSA Global Health Conference (GHC), in the same tropical location – Cairns, QLD.
